At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.

We have an exciting opportunity to join B&NES Council working within our Strategic Commissioning Hub, which brings together the commissioning, contract management, quality assurance and market oversight functions of Childrens Services, Adult Services and Early Help into one integrated service. This service aims to improve efficiency, standardising commissioning processes, and enhancing service delivery for the residents of B&NES.

About the Role

This role sits within the Commercial and Quality Assurance Team and has a focus on services for older people, including care homes, home care, extra care housing and day care services.

You will be responsible for the contract management and quality assurance activity across these services, developing positive professional relationships with providers while providing appropriate challenge and supporting continuous improvement. This role requires developing and maintaining working relationships with operational and safeguarding teams as well as the CQC.

The role also includes management of a Commercial and Quality Support Officer so you will use data and market knowledge to help set priorities and plan quality assurance activity.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience of managing quality or performance within the social care sector who can develop positive working relationships with providers, provide constructive challenge where needed and be able to provide a supportive approach to maintain focus on continuous improvement. You will have the ability to analyse data and use this to provide an evidence-based approach to managing contracts and developing service led improvements. You can also manage competing priorities and respond to changing needs.
