We have an excellent opportunity for a Commercial & Finance Support Co-ordinator to join our Finance team at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full-time, permanent basis.


As the Commercial & Finance Support Co-ordinator, you will be part of a fast-paced environment, working at the centre of operations - coordinating people, information and priorities to help our service run smoothly and commercially.


Wokingham Borough Council is strengthening its commercial and financial functions, and we're looking for a talented Commercial & Finance Support Co-ordinator to play a pivotal role in ensuring our leadership team operates efficiently, intelligently, and with maximum impact.


Sitting within our Commercialisation and Finance teams, you will be the engine behind forward planning, effective governance, and high-quality delivery. Acting as the go to coordination point across meetings, data, communication and logistics, you’ll help ensure our leaders can make informed, timely decisions that support the Council’s wider commercial and financial ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and optimise forward plans for management and leadership teams
• Coordinate meetings, diaries, agendas, rooms, and resources
• Manage complex, multi stakeholder meetings with precision
• Prepare and circulate papers, summaries and follow ups
• Coordinate key returns, service plans, health & safety reporting and other corporate documentation
• Process purchase orders and support basic finance workflows
• Consolidate and prepare data, insights and information for senior stakeholders
• Work collaboratively across teams, services, and senior stakeholders
• Build strong, professional relationships across the organisation

Candidate Requirements:
• Proactive, solutions focused, and confident taking ownership
• Highly organised with strong time management skills
• Comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and structured information
• A clear and engaging communicator
• Accurate, reliable and able to manage competing priorities
• Curious about commercialisation and financial improvement
