Commissioning Assistant

Job description

Are you passionate about improving opportunities for children, young people and families in the East Riding? Do you enjoy working with people, data and projects that deliver real impact? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We are looking for a proactive and organised Commissioning Assistant to join our Children and Young People's Commissioning Team, supporting the delivery of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme and Short Breaks provision.

HAF is a national initiative aimed to support holiday pressures for families in receipt of benefits related free school meals by providing enrichment activities and food in the school holidays. Short breaks provide children and young people with SEND the opportunity to take part in enjoyable activities, develop independence, build friendships and have new experiences, while also giving their families and carers a valuable break from caring responsibilities. Together, these programmes play an important role in prevention, early help and strengthening support within local communities.

This varied role provides an excellent opportunity to work with schools, community organisations, activity providers and partner agencies to help deliver high-quality services that make a real difference to local families. You will support provider communications, maintain accurate records and databases, assist with funding and grant processes, and contribute to the collection and analysis of performance information. You will also support the team in gathering information for panel assessment, undertaking financial monitoring, be involved in marketing initiatives and support the wider commissioning portfolio across education, safeguarding and therapeutic services. The role also involves communicating with a range of stakeholders and regular liaison with parents and carers, sometimes handling sensitive or complex information with professionalism and care.

We’re looking for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and enjoy working with people. You’ll be confident using data, IT systems and processes, able to manage a varied workload and comfortable working to deadlines.

We offer the opportunity for blended working, combining working from home and some office-based working hours, alongside the opportunity to join a friendly, supportive and knowledgeable team at an exciting time of development.

If you are enthusiastic, motivated and keen to contribute to meaningful work within children's services, we would love to hear from you. Please apply if you feel you meet the requirements of this advert and employee specification.
