Commissioning Support Officer

Full-time permanent (main areas - domestic abuse; sexual assault; drug and alcohol; mental health)

Do you want to be part of a team that designs and delivers a diverse and impactful range of services, helping people across Warwickshire stay healthy and live well? If so, these roles could be the perfect opportunity for you.

About us.

We are a 40-strong team of friendly, committed and inclusive people who care about what we do. We work with partners within the council as well as outside, spanning the public, community and private sectors. Warwickshire Public Health’s vision is to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of people living and working in Warwickshire and to reduce inequalities.

Public Health is both a strategic and operational service, and has a wide span of interests. Our core business areas include:

  • drug and alcohol;
  • mental health, and
  • domestic abuse.

We commission services for many of these areas, and have a core group of staff which the successful applicant will work alongside.

The work our services does makes a major contribution to the council's strategic plan to improve lives for people of all ages and our local neighbourhood areas.

The successful candidates will report to one of the two Public Health Commissioning Managers, and work alongside Commissioners as well as Public Health practitioners.

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic team players who are interested in commissioning work and who want to support all stages of the commissioning cycle. Day to day work ranges from evaluating the quality and effectiveness of our contracted services, completing research, learning from people with lived experience of services to improve them in the future, and using data and evidence to support decision making.

Successful applicants will have experience of delivering projects from start to finish, and have a keen desire to work as part of a wider team on all aspects of commissioning activity. They will have great people skills and an eye for detail. A qualification in a relevant subject would be desirable, alongside experience of working in a local authority.
