The Communications team, within Strategy and Communities, leads the council’s approach to communications, campaigns, media relations and digital content. The team works across the organisation to ensure that council priorities are communicated clearly, residents can access information about services and initiatives, and communications activity supports meaningful engagement and impact.

We are looking for a Communications Apprentice to support the team while developing skills in communications, media and digital content.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role you will:

  • Support the production of communications content across digital and internal channels.
  • Assist with the delivery of communications campaigns.
  • Help monitor media coverage and communications performance.
  • Support the coordination of communications activity across the team.
  • Develop professional communications skills through training and practical experience.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong interest in communications, media or digital content.
  • Has good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is organised and willing to learn.
  • Can work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Is motivated to develop professional communications skills.
