We are recruiting a Caretaker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term for 12 months
Location: Rhymney Day Centre

Team: Sport and Leisure Services

This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.

We pay an attractive salary of £8,168 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

We are seeking a reliable and practical Caretaker to help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming community centre.

The role involves supporting the delivery of high‑quality services, ensuring the security of the building and acting as custodian of the premises for a wide range of community activities and hirers.

You will help provide a safe, clean, warm environment in which customers can engage in social, recreational and educational activities, ensuring the building is opened punctually and adequately, heated and prepared for its users including the provision and arrangement of tables / chairs and any necessary equipment.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • Awareness of the importance of health and safety requirements particularly cleanliness and hygiene.
  • The ability to act upon initiative and to deal with unexpected problems.
  • Experience in general caretaking and cleaning duties.
  • Willingness to work flexible and anti-social hours.
