Compliance Manager (Structural Safety)
We’re looking for an experienced Structural Safety Compliance Manager to join our Building Safety team and play a key role in supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of structural safety across our portfolio of our higher-risk buildings (HRBs). This is a specialist role requiring in-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices, particularly in the context of high-rise residential buildings in the UK. You’ll lead client-side oversight of consultant appointments for structural inspections and surveys, and provide expert input to support Safety Case Reports, Building Assessment Certificate applications, and Gateway submissions under the Building Safety Act regime. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, you’ll help us deliver safe, compliant homes and maintain our Golden Thread of Information. You will be required to attend the office a minimum of two days per week for meetings and collaboration.
What you'll do
On a day-to-day basis, you’ll act as the in-house structural engineering expert, supporting the development and implementation of building safety strategies across our HRB portfolio. You’ll oversee consultant appointments for structural inspections, review design and construction stage information, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You’ll provide technical input for Safety Case Reports and Gateway submissions, manage structural safety risks including those related to Large Panel System (LPS) buildings, and contribute to maintaining accurate building information. You’ll also collaborate with internal teams such as Repairs, Fire Remediation, and Asset Management to embed structural safety across all interventions, while liaising with the Building Safety Regulator and other external stakeholders.
What you'll need
- Chartered Engineer status with significant post-qualification experience
- Proven experience in structural engineering for high-rise residential buildings in the UK
- Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022, Building Regulations, and associated guidance
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Proficiency in information management tools and familiarity with document management systems such as SharePoint
