Compliance & Performance Lead

Hours: 32 hours per week (Full Time) Salary: £37,317.25 per annum Location: Hybrid 2 days at Edinburgh Office/ 2 days at home

A role that values your time as much as your skills.

At Ark, the corporate service roles are based on a 4-day working week with no loss of pay. It’s part of how we work – not a pilot, not a perk, and not something you have to earn.

This way of working is new for us, but a deliberate choice. We believe it supports better focus, healthier workloads and more sustainable performance for our people and the organisation.

We are now looking for a Compliance & Performance Lead. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in compliance, governance or performance who enjoys building positive relationships, solving problems and driving improvements across an organisation.

What you'll do

You'll take the lead on a range of compliance and performance activities across Ark, including:

  • Managing complaints and ensuring learning is embedded across the organisation.
  • Acting as the lead for Data Protection and GDPR compliance.
  • Coordinating Freedom of Information and Environmental Information requests.
  • Supporting equality monitoring and reporting requirements.
  • Monitoring performance information and helping managers use data to improve services.
  • Developing and reviewing policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Delivering training and advice to colleagues on compliance and governance matters.
  • Supporting audits, regulatory returns and organisational improvement projects.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in a compliance, governance, audit or performance-related role.
  • Understands data protection legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Can analyse information, identify risks and find practical solutions.
  • Is confident building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Is committed to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality outcomes.

Why join Ark?

At Ark, you'll be part of an organisation that makes a real difference to people's lives every day. We offer a supportive and flexible working environment, generous annual leave, excellent family-friendly policies and access to a range of employee benefits.

If you're looking for a role where your work will have a genuine impact, and where you can help shape and improve how we work as an organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
