Hours: 37 hours per week
Grade: Grade 7 - £38,220 to £40,777
Harborough District Council is seeking an experienced manager for its Lifeline Control Centre.
The Control Centre provides an emergency telecare alarm system (‘Technology Enabled Care’) that supports vulnerable customers. It also receives and manages general council enquiries outside office hours. Along with the Council, the service is provided to a number of local councils and other partners/organisations.
The role involves management of direct service provision to customers; managing projects, reviewing existing services; piloting new services; and developing and applying information systems, especially through information technology. Marketing services to a range of customers is also a key part of the role.
The Control Centre service is delivered by a team of operators, so the ability to manage and lead staff, and team development will be critical. The successful candidate will also need to manage the service budget, ensure resources are allocated effectively and efficiently and that the service continues to generate increased income.
An understanding of information technology and its application in supporting customers, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to solve problems and lead a team that works under pressure are essential.
The successful candidate will be required to work outside normal office hours from time to time and act as emergency contact on a rotating basis for which time off in lieu will be given or appropriate overtime payments authorised. The Control Centre Manager is responsible for ensuring that services are maintained 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
