We pay an attractive salary of £19,360 - £19,667 (28 hours) / £14,520 - £14,750 (21 hours) and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Ty Iscoed Residential Home are recruiting two Cooks. Do you have experience of working in a busy kitchen environment? Do you have knowledge of dietary requirements?

We are seeking friendly, caring people who are passionate, talented and enthusiastic to join our team creating delicious meals and baking from fresh ingredients, ensuring nutritional content of the meals provided and catering for the dietary needs of all residents. The role involves preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of dishes ensuring high standards of food safety, cleanliness and hygiene in line with the Food Safety Act.

Responsibilities include: -

  • Leading the kitchen during shifts.
  • Managing food orders and stock rotation.
  • Providing support and taking the lead of other kitchen staff.
  • Maintaining high standards by adhering to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) guidelines.
  • Participating in inspections by Environmental Health and Care Inspectorate Wales.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Basic Food Hygiene qualification and a willingness to work towards QCF/NVQ Level 2/3 in Catering, within a specified timeframe (if not in receipt of).
  • Knowledge of Food Safety act 1990, Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 and Food Information Regulations 2014.
  • Experience of working in a kitchen setting.
