About the role

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance and managing a small team, you’ll provide high-quality financial insight, advice and analysis to senior stakeholders across the organisation. Acting as a trusted business partner, you’ll support complex, high-profile initiatives, influence strategic decision-making and help deliver tangible value for the business.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide expert financial advice and analysis to support strategic decision-making across the organisation, becoming an embedded and valued business partner.
  • Lead financial analysis and option appraisals to assess alternative sources of finance, presenting high-quality insights at management team, programme and project board meetings.
  • Staying abreast of development within the sector and maintaining a network of stakeholders to understand new alternative finance sources as they develop. Produce high-quality analysis and committee papers to inform key decisions at executive and board level.
  • Deliver options appraisals for the treatment of non-core assets, assessing key financial metrics alongside accounting and tax implications.
  • Business partner the delivery of the selected option for the future of the asset, whether that holding, tenure change or disposal ensuring smooth finance systems handover.
  • Work closely with budget holders, ensuring clear ownership, value for money and efficiency throughout the process.
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholders understand and are aligned to the financial, commercial and operational implications of proposals.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, clarity and best practice across Corporate Finance.
  • Deputise for the Head of Corporate Finance as required and contribute to wider corporate finance activity.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including RSH requirements, and adherence to Peabody’s internal policies and controls.

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven ability to translate complex financial information into clear insight and advice to support robust strategic decisions at senior level.
  • Strong experience of financial analysis and appraisal; financial modelling experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, using sound judgement and initiative to build strong business networks and trusted relationships.
  • Experience working collaboratively across Finance and the wider business to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong commitment to best practice, regulatory compliance, data quality and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, with the ability to perform under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the development sector, housing and accounting standards, and ongoing professional development.

What you’ll have:

  • CCAB qualified accountant or evidence of fast-track progression towards qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience in business partnering working closely with a range of stakeholders in a similar sized and complex organisation.
  • Proven management experience, with the ability to support and develop others.
  • Proven ability to research and propose accounting approaches in relation to complex transactions
  • Experienced in providing high-quality insights and finance representation at management team meetings and/or programme/project boards meetings
  • Comfort working in uncertain or evolving environments, able to adapt, build consensus and manage expectations.
  • A practical approach to process design, documentation and training.
