Join Us in Empowering Women to Rebuild Their Lives

Placement Supervisor – Elizabeth Fry Charity, Reading

Elizabeth Fry Charity operates a Ministry of Justice Approved Premises in Reading, providing a safe, supportive home for up to 24 women as they navigate the criminal justice system. We are passionate about delivering high‑quality accommodation and person‑centred support that truly makes a difference.

Make a Real Impact Every Day

As a Placement Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our residents through one‑to‑one sessions and structured groupwork. You’ll bring compassion, resilience and a genuine commitment to helping women move forward positively with their lives.

If you have experience within the Criminal Justice System — or a strong understanding of the challenges faced by women in this context — you’ll be able to hit the ground running. What matters most is your ability to lead by example, motivate others, and bring positivity to this varied and rewarding role.

You’ll work closely with a small, dedicated staff team to manage risk effectively while encouraging women to address the difficult areas in their lives and build towards a more stable future.

Working Pattern (Part‑Time, 30 hours per week):

  • Monday: 10am–5pm
  • Thursday: 10am–5pm
  • Friday: 10am–9pm
  • Saturday: 8:30am–3:30pm

We offer a competitive full‑time equivalent salary of £32,624.31 to £ 36,154.91.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking self‑motivated, compassionate individuals who truly want to make a difference. You’ll thrive with us if you are:

  • Skilled at managing complex behaviours and supporting people through emotional or challenging circumstances
  • A strong communicator with the ability to influence, reason, and build trusting relationships
  • Someone who understands the issues affecting women involved in the criminal justice system
  • Confident with record‑keeping and using Microsoft Word and Excel

Please refer to the full job description for a more detailed overview of the role.

What We Offer

We believe in investing in our team so you can deliver your best work — and feel valued along the way. Benefits include:

  • Regular supervision to support your personal and professional development
  • Tailored training to build your skills and confidence
  • The chance to create tangible, positive change in the lives of women every day
  • Perkbox membership with exclusive discounts, wellbeing tools and perks
  • Financial recognition, including a confirmation‑in‑post bonus after probation and long‑service awards (3 and 10 years)
  • Employee Assistance Programme, offering confidential emotional, financial and practical support
  • Generous annual leave, starting at 25 days plus Bank Holidays (pro rata), rising to 30 days with service
  • Delicious freshly prepared meals, cooked on site by our in‑house Chef and tailored to dietary needs

At Elizabeth Fry Charity, you’ll be part of a compassionate and committed team working to transform the lives of vulnerable women. Every day, your contribution will make a meaningful impact — and you’ll be supported by colleagues who value collaboration, personal growth, and innovation. We invest in your success, celebrate your achievements, and ensure you feel truly appreciated.
