Balancing quality and value is a real skill, and it's one shared by our Commercial team, who make sure we meet the needs of government customers. They're the specialists who shape services with expert insights, win work through expert bid management, and help us reach new customers each day. Now, you’ve got the opportunity to join them.
Understanding customer needs.
Winning exciting bids.
Knowing the impact of your work.
It all matters.
Develop the content we need to support our global mission
When you join our collaborative Strategy and Insights team in this fast-paced role you’ll focus on turning information produced by your colleagues into clear and engaging content. This could involve bringing data and insights together into dashboards, creating presentations for senior stakeholders, producing information summaries, coordinating internal communications, developing engagement activities and supporting external marketing campaigns. And once the team has developed a strategy, you’ll liaise with your colleagues to work out how it can be shared across our organisation so that everyone feels connected to the plan, understands the direction we’re taking and recognises the role they’ll play in delivering our objectives.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be extremely varied, and include supporting our three Insights Managers with dashboard maintenance, taking accurate notes during customer interviews and other research activities, and supporting the preparation for insight-gathering events. Committed to ensuring that changes are delivered on the ground, not just simply recommended on paper, you’ll also make an important contribution to staff-facing content such as podcasts and visual artwork. Another vital task will involve owning the team's presence on the FCDO Services hub and CR SharePoint site, keeping content current and easy for colleagues to navigate so our strategy is accessible across the organisation.
Develop your career with one of the UK’s most important security organisations
A proactive and dynamic self-starter with plenty of initiative and the confidence to take ownership of everything you focus on, you’ll be constantly coming up with creative and innovative ideas, and always looking for new ways to approach your tasks. With strong attention to detail and willing to ask questions as you develop your knowledge, your excellent organisational skills will allow you to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and face issues with resilience and persistence. And as you’ll be collaborating with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders it’s important that you possess superb communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to turn complex information into engaging presentations, dashboards and summaries.
With a genuine interest in strategy, market trends and customer insights, and capable of collating, checking and presenting data and information clearly and accurately, you’ll be a confident user of the Microsoft Office suite of software, with a particular focus on PowerBI, MS Forms, PowerPoint and Excel. Curious about our customers and how our organisation operates, you should be ready to immerse yourself in your work, and pursue professional qualifications in market research, insight or strategy. With this in mind, you’ll be encouraged to identify the development opportunities you want, and be ready and willing to acquire new skills, knowledge and expertise.
Discover the support you need to grow your career
Working with us, you’ll help keep people, information, and assets safe around the world. It’s a role you can feel proud of, and we aim to make every part of your career just as rewarding. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do and all you need.
