Job description
As the Cyber Security Compliance Team Lead, within the Defence Enterprise Operating Authority Cyber Compliance Team (DEOA CC), you’ll provide technical leadership, taking responsibility for assessing and assuring that new systems and services are secure and defendable, when introduced to the MOD Digital Enterprise against policy.
You’ll have extensive internal and external engagement with project teams, Cyber Directorate and other policy staff and line-manage and support a mixed team of Civil Servants and Military personnel.
Responsibilities
- Line-manage and lead a mixed team of Civil Servants and Military personnel, including day to day management, acting as countersigning officer and ensuring support is given in a timely manner.
- Support and lead on technical aspects for the onboarding of new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities and Cyber Defence policy and Standards.
- Provide cyber defence Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice to future and current developments, including internal and external stakeholders, provide technical input and expertise to all project processes and documentation.
- Working with the Cyber Integration and Engineering team and the contractor for cyber capabilities, prioritising the data feeds ingestion.
- Assist on the drafting and providing updates to Cyber Defence policy and Standards and supporting (advising and guiding) the team.
- Document and present Cyber Defence Risk to relevant risk holders, including working with the Cyber and Electromagnetic Directorate Risk Management Team.
- Provide expert advice and support in the event of an incident, retaining a shadow support role for live operations and network operations, relating to Cyber Security of the MOD Digital Enterprise, deputising for DEOA CC Hd as required.

- Able to demonstrate strong leadership by energising teams, delivering meaningful change and putting customer needs at the heart of service delivery.
Additional information
This post is eligible for a Digital Skills Allowance of up to £11,400 per annum. Eligibility for this allowance will be assessed at interview against 4 core technical skills only and reviewed annually in line with MOD policy.
Whilst in post, you may be able to gain industry recognised qualifications and more and we’ll support you throughout the process. If not held already, opportunity may be provided to gain the following and further qualifications when in post:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified ISO 27001 Practitioner
Dependent on the business need, there may be a requirement to travel to meetings within the UK (or potentially occasional overseas visits).
This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station which is based on business assessment of where the work is best done) and working from home as a personal choice (if the role is suitable for this). If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
