DATA AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER – HBC4 PRO RATA TERM TIME SALARY

PERMANENT POSITION – 37 HOURS PER WEEK – 39 Weeks TERM TIME Only

COMMENCEMENT as soon as possible

The school seeks to identify and employ a highly competent Data and Administration Officer who will provide consistent and positive support to the team of school staff, and the students. The successful candidate will primarily be based at the Vocational Centre with occasional requirements to cover at the main school site.

Core aspects of the post are to oversee student attendance information, collate and present data regarding attendance and behaviour within the school, process financial invoices, orders, credit card reconciliation, manage and update school information systems, manage the Reception area of the Vocational Centre, and provide administrative support for the staff of the school. In this role you will assist in overseeing and implementing social media and website updates.

The post requires a calm and resilient individual with excellent communication skills who will be able to respond sensitively but assertively to the diverse needs of the students and families who they will greet each day. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to be well organised, helping to routinely guide staff regarding information collation.

The Bridge School is a Pupil Referral Unit for Secondary aged students. Many students experience varied barriers to learning, including developmental and behavioural challenges. Teaching staff and students will benefit from a proactive member of office staff who is able to anticipate their needs and independently develop structures that will support the smooth running of the school.

Although you would not work directly with the young people in the school, you will have daily contact with them. The support and development of our student’s social skills, emotional needs and mental health is a core strand of the school’s remit. Subsequently, although you may not necessarily have experience working with this profile of young people, we require staff who understand the impact of these aspects of child development on an individual’s progress, participation and communication. You will need to be resilient and open minded, and you will actively seek to develop professional and supportive relationships with our students and families.

Informal discussions with the School Business Manager or Vocational Associate Head or Headteacher, and visits to the school are encouraged. These can be arranged by contacting the school office (01928-581301).

You should note that, if successful you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check or Enhanced DBS Check for Regulated Activity (formerly Criminal Records Bureau). Further information about DBS checks can be found at www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its students and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
