Our Vacancy

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Data and Insights Manager to lead a team of analysts and help drive a data-led culture at Peabody. Working within our Group Performance team and the wider Transformation Directorate, you’ll develop a good understanding of the business priorities to provide analysis and insight which supports strategic decision-making, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.

You will have a naturally curious mindset and be interested in the work of Peabody and how data and reporting can improve the lives of residents. You’ll be responsible for managing a suite of Power BI dashboards which provide critical information about the performance of the organisation. You will work closely with end users to understand priorities and ensure reports are accurate, accessible, and aligned to our new Performance Framework, so that reports are well used and enable self- service.

You will have excellent organisational skills and will ensure the team has robust processes in place to manage demand and ensure that all new reporting and analysis is developed to meet user requirements and to time and quality standards.

Peabody is implementing a new Data Operating Model including a new Azure Data Platform. This is a key role where you’ll support the delivery of our Data Transformation Programme and work closely with Data and IT colleagues to make full use of the new Data Platform to develop organisational reporting and develop a self-service culture across the organisation. This includes reviewing and migrating existing dashboards.

You will be customer focused and have an excellent understanding of the business environment in which Peabody operates including regulatory requirements. You must have a good understanding of data protection legislation, data quality and other data governance principles and ensure these are embedded in the work of your team. You’ll have excellent management skills and will create a team culture which allows team members to develop and flourish, whilst at the same time developing good working relationships with data colleagues across Peabody to embed a dynamic and collaborative approach to reporting and insight.

The team works flexibly and you’ll need to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week.

What you'll do:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Data & Insight Analysts
  • Develop an excellent understanding of the business priorities to deliver insightful analysis and reporting
  • Implement a robust dashboard/report development process to prioritise and manage new demand and ensure quality and governance standards are met
  • Be responsible for a suite of Power BI dashboards which support regulatory and Board-level reporting with accurate, timely data
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to implement the Data Operating Model and embed data into decision-making
  • Make full use of your analytical and visualisation skills to develop Power BI reporting and ensure we get maximum benefit from Power BI

What you’ll need:

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills to manage a programme of work
  • Experience of delivering new reporting within a project management framework such as Agile and of quality managing development work
  • Strong experience in data and analytics, ideally within housing, and able to provide examples of delivering real business benefits
  • Excellent Power BI skills in both Power BI Desktop and Service, with the ability to develop models, create reports, set standards and share expertise
  • Good skills in SQL, Excel, data modelling and other data analysis tools
Confident communicator, with the ability to present complex data clearly and effectively to a range of audiences
  • Strong line management and team development experience

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how we use data to deliver better services and outcomes for our residents. If you’re a confident leader with a passion for insight and improvement, we’d love to hear from you.
