WFD are now looking for an Data Systems Manager to support our Systems Improvement Project.Job description
Location: UK based with the option for remote working. This role will require occasional travel to HQ in London to fulfil operational requirements.
Benefits: 4 wellbeing days per calendar year [pro-rata for part-time staff], plus annual leave and public holidays entitlement. Civil Service pension- defined benefit: Generous employer contribution up to 28.97%.
Contract Details: Fixed Term to 31st March 2027
Role Overview with key responsibilities
WFD’s data strategy sets out a clear ambition to build in-house capability to ensure full ownership of its information management systems. The Data Systems Manager will support the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of these systems, ensuring they remain aligned with organisational needs and business objectives.
Under the direction of the Head of Systems Improvement Project (SIP), this role will provide a critical internal capability, providing project management support, acting as an escalation point for system user ability issues and assuming responsibility for the handover from external developers. The Data Systems Manager will also be responsible for the maintenance of Microsoft Power Apps and for the development and support of low- to medium-complexity automations and solutions.
Person specification
About You
It is essential your application clearly shows,
- Experience in database management and/or design, either as part of a software development project or configuring tools.
- Experience with NO-CODE or LOW-CODE application development framework such as knack.com or Microsoft PowerApps.
- Must demonstrate ambition and the capacity to learn and grow as WFD’s data architecture evolves.
- Experience using data visualisation tools such as Microsoft PowerBI
- Basic knowledge of Python
- Basic knowledge of Git
- Experience with user support or customer service, ideally experience implementing new software solutions in disperse organisations and/ or remotely.
