This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a growing service, supporting the Registered Manager to establish and maintain a safe, nurturing, and aspirational home where children can thrive.

About the Role

As Deputy Residential Home Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day leadership and operation of the home. You will provide guidance, supervision and support to the residential team, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance are consistently achieved.

  • Ensuring the home delivers high-quality, child-centred care.
  • Promoting positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
  • Supporting safeguarding, care planning and risk management processes.
  • Contributing to Ofsted readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Acting as the home's lead in the Registered Manager's absence.
  • Helping to create a culture where children feel safe, valued, listened to and supported to achieve their potential.

About You

We are looking for a compassionate and resilient leader who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.

You will have:

  • Experience of working within a children's residential setting.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential regulations.
  • Experience of leading, supervising or mentoring staff.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to make sound decisions and lead confidently in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.

You will share our values and be committed to providing stable, nurturing homes where children can develop, grow and succeed.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting programme of residential development across Barnsley. You will join a service committed to innovation, continuous improvement and delivering excellent outcomes for children and young people.

Working with Barnsley means you will have the opportunity to:

  • Help shape newly developed and expanding residential services.
  • Work within a supportive and ambitious leadership team.
