Starting salary for this role is £39,152 (pro rata for part-time colleagues)

This role sits within a well defined pay band, offering clear progression as you grow your career at BCP. We are looking for an ambitious Digital and UX Designer to work within our Digital Creation and User Experience team. This team’s role is to work collaboratively across the organisation, to influence and encourage continuous improvement, understanding both quantitative and qualitative data, and services, to help shape our digital customer experience


Main Responsibilities


This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an open, dynamic, and collaborative digital working environment. By joining our team you’ll be involved in the full life cycle of the work. You’ll start by gathering user requirements, writing specification documents, and creating wireframes and prototypes. Undertaking various user experience activities, you’ll be analysing data, and creating user stories and personas, using this work to make your recommendations. Working closely with the business areas and our development team you will then carry out functional and user acceptance testing, continuing to support, review and iterate the process.


The Ideal Candidate


Excellent communication skills are required as you will need to develop and maintain, open, honest, and effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. You will need to challenge assumptions, champion user needs and ensure our services are to a high standard of accessibility, usability, and usefulness.

The ability to promote digital transformation and encourage change and continuous improvement is key to this role.

You will need an excellent understanding of websites and customer portals and have experience of working with systems, data, and databases, with the ability to process and maintain management information tools and processes.

BCP Council operates an agile working system allowing staff to work flexibly from home or from the office to meet business needs

This is a 37 hour per week, permanent contract.
