Job summary

Job Purpose:

The role of the Digital Business Analyst will be to support the transition of email comms platforms and to support the organisational change required to manage changes to ways of working.

Management of integrated email comms platforms is moving into IT, and so this role is integral to bringing efficiencies and simplicity to the email comms technology strategy at IUK.

Job description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Manage, analyse and review (as administrator) existing email platform tools:

  • Discovery and documentation of existing usage inc. undertaking a review of current users, email volumes, managed services set-up, data retention etc, so that planning for migration to Marketing Cloud can proceed
  • Be responsible for configuration and management
  • Any other activities as required and agreed
  • Understand GDPR, data & compliance requirements for customer data and assess requirements and delivery plans accordingly
  • Become a Marketing Cloud ‘super user’:
  • contributing to and shaping the subscriber strategy
  • building templates for emails
  • learning the journey planner
  • troubleshoot access queries, template queries and any ad hoc query as required
  • becoming familiar with the CRM integration and how to segment and suppress recipients
  • contributing to preference centre strategy
  • Become the email comms lead for any IUK mailing list without a clear business owner, e.g. KTP, to be sent from Marketing Cloud:
  • Be the point of contact
  • Understand the requirements for change i.e. moving lists onto MC – discover, plan and execute
  • Support with their data needs both in in the short-term as well as for longer-term data strategy (i.e. CRM integration)
  • Discovery around email use across IUK, including Business Growth’s use of Gov delivery:
  • Current use
  • Desired new use/process in line with wider strategy objectives
  • Document this, iterate and improve
  • Priorities agreed with line manager
  • Any email comms activity or request as prioritised by the organisation – interpret, own, plan and execute best practice approach

Person specification

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential –

  • Experience in using, analysing and developing email marketing platforms for digital journeys (S)
  • Experience of Jira and Confluence (S)
  • Experience of CRM platforms and CRM integrations (S)
  • Experience of working with developers, writing specifications and testing work that is delivered (S&I)

Desirable –

  • Experience of Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing Cloud (S&I)
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certifications (S)
  • SFMC technical support or consultancy background. (S&I)
