We are looking for Digital Business Performance & Planning Managers to join our Business Management Teams within Technology Services and Health and Disability.

These roles provide an exciting opportunity for individuals with data gathering and administrative experience to join the team and help identify opportunities to improve our services.

Success in this role relies on understanding the importance of clear and accurate communication with a diverse range of stakeholders, while maintaining a focus on achieving overall business objectives when carrying out day-to-day activities.

The successful candidate will be proactive and customer-focused, taking pride in producing accurate reports and documentation to support the wider team. You will work closely with our SEO Business Managers and have opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career.

We are a small, supportive team looking for someone with strong skills inanalysis and insight, who understands the importance of seeing the "big picture" and can work collaboratively across boundaries to deliver the best possible outcomes for the business.

Job description

The Digital Business Performance & Planning Manager contributes to the delivery of the Department's Digital Strategy and business plans across a range of business functions. They assist the business in operating, maintaining and transforming services to support the achievement of Digital and Transformation Group strategic outcomes.

The Business Management Team is responsible for the effective management of workforce planning, risk, group-level finance, business planning, audit, compliance and business performance.

As a Digital Business Performance & Planning Manager, you will support the delivery of departmental workforce planning and recruitment activities.

In these roles, you will:

  • Support the Business Management Team with data gathering and the maintenance of trackers, including action logs, recruitment trackers and resource data files. Assist in the design and implementation of workforce plans, helping to identify demand, manage and monitor recruitment against that demand, ensuring appropriate protocols are followed and workforce costs remain within budget.
  • Gather and circulate relevant performance metrics on behalf of the team, using online dashboards to track resources. Provide secretariat support during planning sessions.
  • Carry out administrative responsibilities for SharePoint and Microsoft Teams channels.

Person specification

Hybrid Working

This role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work.

If a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for the role and for you, you will normally be required to spend a minimum of 60% of your contracted working hours from your DWP office.

Salary Information

New entrants to the Civil Service will join on band minimum.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer will maintain their current substantive salary.

Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion will move to the bottom of the grade pay scale or receive a 10% increase applied to their current substantive salary, whichever is greater.

Any temporary allowances that you are currently in receipt of will not form part of the calculation to determine your pay. Any allowances that are in payment will cease when you move into your new role.

Selection process details

Stage 1: Application
