At home, they enjoy having the television or radio on for much of the day. Their preferred television programmes include children's programmes and quiz shows.

They prefer spending the majority of their time at home and enjoy a familiar and comfortable environment.

They can become anxious when there is uncertainty around appointment times, particularly regarding visits from district nurses for insulin administration. They are also sensitive to the texture of the gloves worn by healthcare professionals.

They are interested in discussing their health and wellbeing and may frequently return to these topics in conversation. Staff should be able to provide reassurance and encourage a positive focus where appropriate.
