We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to take responsibility for the development and delivery of the College’s Estates Strategy, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and high-quality environment for students and staff. The Director of Estates and Risk Management will lead the Estates, Facilities, and Risk Management functions, driving operational excellence across the College’s estate while supporting long-term strategic and financial objectives. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the College’s infrastructure, ensuring facilities are efficient, compliant, and fit for modern learning and working environments.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, you will oversee major capital projects, rolling maintenance and asset replacement programmes, and the effective management of budgets, procurement, and supplier contracts. Working closely with senior leaders and the Board, you will provide expert advice on Estates and Facilities Management, Health and Safety, Risk Management, business continuity, and statutory compliance.
The ideal candidate will bring significant leadership experience within estates, facilities, or property management, ideally gained within education, public sector, or similarly complex environments. You will have a proven track record of delivering strategic estates initiatives, managing large-scale projects and budgets, and developing customer-focused services that deliver value for money. Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, risk management, sustainability, and compliance requirements is essential, alongside excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

The Role:
Where you’ll work: This role is based at our Dartford campus, however there will be necessary travel to other College sites (Gravesend / Tonbridge and Hadlow).
Your hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (1 FTE).
Your pay: £70,000 per annum.
