Disability Support Worker

We are looking for new support workers to expand our provision at Live! across Adult Day Opportunities, After-School Youth Clubs, Holiday Clubs, Social Action, Health & Fitness, Performing Arts & Social Groups.

You will a be fun, people person, with a high degree of energy, creativity & empathy. You will possess fantastic communication skills, have health & social care, youth work, childcare or education experience and enjoy the challenge of working within a person-centred, busy, diverse environment. Flexibility, an ability to prioritise, patience and a sense of humour are also essential.

Main Purpose of Role

Provide practical and personal support — assist small groups and individuals with pastoral support, intimate & personal care, meals, medication, communication & understanding, mobility, motor skills, and basic task completion.

Promote independence — Empower people with additional needs to participate, experience & learn, to build skills & make choices, to track their own progress and achieve personal goals.

Support wellbeing and community inclusion — Promote healthy lifestyles, active citizenship and individual autonomy. Enable full participation and optimise opportunities for progressive personal development, both at Live! and in the community.

Requirements

• Health and Social Care Level 3 Qualification (or above) - Essential
• Full clean manual driving licence and access to own transport - Essential
• English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above - Essential
• Inclusion, Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding knowledge / awareness - Essential
• Experience of working in an Adult Health & Social Care setting - Desirable
• Experience of working within Education / Childcare / Youth Work setting - Desirable
• Experience of working with specific targeted groups e.g. vulnerable adults & children - Desirable
• Neurodiversity/Disability Awareness - Desirable
