    About the Team:

Community Works is Lambeth’s in-house Direct Labour Organisation (DLO), delivering communal repairs, FRA remedial works, HIA minor works, estate-based maintenance, and other operational services across the borough.

Our FRA programme generates a high volume of safety critical work that must be completed within statutory timeframes. The team works closely with Compliance, Surveyors, Housing Officers, Supervisors, Area Managers, and residents to ensure that all fire safety actions are progressed efficiently and safely.
The scheduling function is central to managing workload flow, ensuring accurate coordination, and supporting a compliant and effective FRA service.

    About the Role:

An internal opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised individual to join Community Works as a DLO Scheduler, with a specific focus on supporting the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) remedial programme. This role is essential to ensuring that FRA actions are scheduled, prioritised, and delivered efficiently by our in-house operatives and external contractors. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring Lambeth meets its fire safety obligations and maintains high standards of service delivery for residents.

The DLO Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling a significant volume of FRA-related work orders, ensuring tasks are allocated effectively to in-house operatives and external FRA contractors. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within fast-paced operational environments.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Scheduling FRA remedial works and ensuring efficient appointment booking
    • Coordinating diary availability for operatives, contractors, and residents
    • Ensuring materials and access requirements are identified in advance
    • Monitoring progress of FRA work orders and updating Northgate accurately
    • Liaising with Supervisors, Surveyors, Compliance, and Housing Officers to prioritise works
    • Tracking overdue actions and escalating risks appropriately
    • Supporting audit and compliance reporting, including data for governance boards

This is a vital role that underpins Lambeth’s statutory fire safety responsibilities and supports operational delivery across Community Works.

To be considered for interview, your CV and supporting statement will clearly evidence:

    • Experience working in scheduling, repairs, housing operations, or a similar customer-focused operational environment
    • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage high volumes of work orders
    • Knowledge of communal repairs, maintenance processes, or FRA remedial workflows
    • Ability to interpret repair requests and allocate work efficiently to the right teams
    • Experience using housing systems (e.g., Northgate) or similar case management databases
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with residents, operatives, supervisors, and contractors
    • A customer-focused approach with the ability to resolve issues and rearrange appointments effectively
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced operational team
