Duty Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and customer focused Duty Manager to join our team.

As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the safe, efficient and effective day to day operation of the centre. You’ll provide visible leadership during your shift, support and motivate the operational team, and make sure our customers receive a consistently high quality experience.

This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is confident making decisions in a busy leisure environment.

As a Duty Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the operational team during your shift and ensuring colleagues are deployed effectively.
• Ensuring the centre is opened, operated and closed safely and securely.
• Maintaining high standards of health and safety, cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility.
• Completing operational checks, inspections and required documentation.
• Ensuring swimming pool, sports hall, changing and other leisure areas are operated safely and effectively.
• Providing excellent customer service and responding professionally to enquiries, feedback and complaints.
• Responding confidently to incidents, accidents and emergencies and ensuring appropriate procedures are followed.
• Supporting emergency procedures, evacuations and first aid responses when required.
• Monitoring facility capacity and ensuring activities and events operate within appropriate safety limits.
• Supporting the training, development and performance of team members.
• Working closely with the management team to identify operational issues and ensure actions are followed through to completion.
• Supporting programmes, bookings, events and other centre activities.
• Maintaining accurate records and completing shift handovers to ensure effective communication between teams.
• Helping us continually improve the customer experience and the way we operate.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience within a leisure, sport, fitness, hospitality or customer facing operational environment.
• Experience supervising or leading a team.
• A recognised First Aid qualification, or willingness to achieve one.
• Relevant leisure or pool qualifications where required for the operation.
• Good knowledge of health and safety and the importance of maintaining accurate operational records.
