Shape a service of caring and compassionate professionals to deliver positive change for our children and families?
Help empower our communities to access the expertise, guidance and support they need, when they need it.
Our Purpose
The North East Lincolnshire Community Educational Psychology Service is committed to using psychology to make a positive difference for children, young people, families, education settings and communities.
This is an exciting time to join us. Alongside our person centred statutory responsibilities, SEND Reform is creating new opportunities to work earlier, more preventatively and closer to the communities we serve.
Our developing Experts at Hand approach brings specialist expertise closer to children, families and education settings through multidisciplinary and community-based working. Educational Psychologists have an important role within this, using psychology not only with individual children, but with the relationships, settings and systems around them.
Our EMBRACE framework reflects the importance we place on connection, belonging, relational practice and genuine partnership. It guides how we work together as a team and how we contribute to the wider Local Authority vision of Our Children, Our Future.
We are looking for qualified HCPC-registered Educational Psychologists, and trainee EPs approaching qualification, who would like to help shape the next stage of our service.
The Role
“Working within this team, with these people, following this ethos feels like home. I feel professionally challenged, personally valued and completely embraced. I am very proud to be part of the ed psych team at NELC.”
You will join a warm, supportive Community Educational Psychology Team at an important point in its development.
You will provide high-quality person-centred psychological advice as part of our statutory responsibilities, while also having opportunities to work preventatively, therapeutically, systemically and at community level.
Through Experts at Hand, you will have opportunities to work alongside other professionals to help make specialist support more accessible and strengthen the support around children and young people.
Our EPs use a broad range of psychological skills, including consultation, assessment, intervention, training, supervision and systemic work. Our wider offer includes work with education settings, projects and training such as ELSA, National Autistic Programmes, Emotion Coaching and Relational Approaches.
As a Local Authority EP, you will benefit from established relationships across Education and Inclusion and opportunities to work alongside Social Care, the Virtual School, Public Health and Family Hubs.
The role is hybrid, with work across education and community settings, our Grimsby offices and home. We value professional autonomy, high-quality supervision, CPD, reflective practice and opportunities to develop.
We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time roles.

Why Join Us?
We want Educational Psychologists to be visible, connected and part of the communities they serve.
For us, SEND Reform offers an opportunity to strengthen the contribution psychology makes before difficulties escalate, while continuing to provide high-quality statutory Educational Psychology.
You will be joining a team where there is space to think, develop and help shape what comes next.
If this sounds like the kind of Educational Psychology you want to practise, we would really like to hear from you.
Your Application
Please read the Role Profile and Person Specification before applying.
We would also be very happy to have an informal conversation about the role, our team or our developing community approach.
