Roles are either ‘site based’ or ‘home based’.
Site based roles are mainly based at the workplace, with the option to work from home for up to two days a week, depending on service needs.
Home based roles are mainly based at home, with the expectation of attending the workplace up to one day a week.
The working arrangement for each role is set by the manager, based on service requirements.

Our Electoral Services team plays a vital role in ensuring elections and democratic processes are delivered accurately, fairly and efficiently. We have a strong, experienced and knowledgeable team with a reputation for innovation, having recently delivered the country's first election day Central Voting Hub pilot during the local elections.

Role Responsibilities- Maintain accurate electoral registration and absent voting records, processing applications and responding to enquiries.
- Support the delivery of local, regional and national elections, referendums and other statutory polls.
- Help recruit, train and coordinate colleagues who support elections and polling activities.
- Use electoral management systems to maintain records, produce reports and monitor key deadlines.
- Work closely with councillors, candidates, agents, residents and partner organisations to provide a high-quality service.
- Contribute to election planning and wider democratic services activities, helping ensure important statutory deadlines are met.
If you're appointed at the development level, you’ll receive structured training and support to build your knowledge and experience, with opportunities to progress your career within the service.
If you're appointed at the experienced level, you’ll take on a broader range of electoral administration responsibilities, using your expertise to support the delivery of a professional, reliable and high-quality service.
Ideal Candidate- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, residents and stakeholders.
- Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- A flexible approach and willingness to support service requirements during busy electoral periods.
