
Employee Collaboration Platform Manager
Job summary
The Platform Manager works with architects to articulate the potential uses of the platform and ensure that designs make optimal use of the platform’s capabilities. The Platform Manager works with a team of developers to ensure that the platform is maintained and supported and that the capabilities of the platform are available for use by TPR consumers. The Platform Manager works with platform suppliers to understand the roadmap for the platform, prioritising a backlog of work to implement new capabilities and retire capabilities that are end of life.
This is a highly visible role that requires a mix of technical acumen and team leadership skills to drive the execution of the platform. This person must be creative, ask questions, and be comfortable challenging the status quo.
Job description
Primary Responsibilities
- Create, design, support and develop the Platform coordinating efforts with the development team, working on platform architectural implementation.
- Take initiative in solving complex technical problems and recommend original solutions and design approaches to platform requirements, making decisions between competing solutions.
- Own and line manage the platform development team and deliverables, including technical design, logical and physical design of the solution, coding, testing, and debugging.
- Work closely with the architect, to ensure conformance with the overall architectural guidelines.
- Collaborate with Service and Product Owners to manage the backlog of work and ensure the stability of the platform and that capabilities are available to be used in meeting user needs.
- Create a close working relationship with business partners to identify the pain points with the goal of providing better services and products.
- Work with various DDaT architects to explore integration across the overall platform landscape.
- Establish strong relationships, and proactively communicate, with team members as well as individuals across the organization.
Person specification
The role criteria
- M365 Technical Experience across multiple M365 applications and their integration with related Microsoft technologies e.g. Azure Infrastructure, Power Platform, Data Platform.
- Experience in creating a loosely coupled, services-oriented design that can scale for large volumes of data
- Experience supporting extensibility, to plug new modules or services without requiring re-design
- Experience working with, and enhancing, Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Development (CD) environments.
- Experience with Open-Source Software around data processing and persistence
- Experience working on pipeline framework
- Strong estimating and planning skills
- Should have worked on Agile scrum or kanban methodology
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
