
Energy Officer
The Role
Based within the Asset and Compliance Team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the energy contracts for the council’s property portfolio. This will include the electricity, gas and water supplies across the councils commercial and corporate portfolio as well as the communal spaces within the councils housing portfolio. Your hands on approach to communicating with energy providers and end users alike, will allow you to use your skills and temperament to dedicate time to interrogating invoices with the commitment to resolve errors and concerns on a granular detail.
In addition, your experience of working within a social housing setting and delivering projects to help local residents, will allow you to successfully manage ongoing and future projects and funding applications related to energy improvement. This will put you in a strong position to then lead on the council’s ambition of ensuring all our residential properties have an EPC energy rating of C or above.
The successful candidate must be able to evidence the requirements laid out in the Job Description and be able to show a commitment to getting involved in some administrative heavy parts of the role. This will be combined with having the strategic experience to drive system change needed to bring about efficiencies and savings within the administration of the energy contracts.
This is a permanent post, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday and is based at Lancaster Town Hall.

Salary range
- £40,777 - £46,142 per year
