Environmental Enforcement Officer

We're looking for someone who cares about the local environment, enjoys working with people, and wants to help make our communities cleaner, safer and more welcoming places to live.

This is not a desk-based role. You'll be out and about across the District, tackling issues that matter to residents, from fly-tipping and littering to dog fouling and abandoned vehicles. You'll investigate incidents, gather evidence, work with partners, and help educate and encourage positive behaviour across our communities.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a positive approach to join our team. If you're confident, approachable, resilient and enjoy solving problems, we'd love to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is comfortable working outdoors, travelling across the District and adapting to different situations each day.

• Brings enthusiasm, initiative and a willingness to learn.

You may already work in enforcement, community safety or environmental services, but we're equally interested in people from backgrounds such as community engagement, housing, customer services, neighbourhood management, youth work or other roles where building relationships and solving problems are key.

For candidates who can demonstrate the right behaviours, aptitude and commitment but who may not have a direct enforcement background, we can offer training and support linked to progression towards the full Environmental Enforcement Officer role.
