    Starting salary £46,376pa with progression to £49,608pa through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance)

    Permanent contract

    37 hours per week (hybrid working)



    We’re looking for a proactive and enthusiastic professional to deliver the service functions within regulatory services. The Team covers a specialist area of Environmental Health. These roles specialise in Environmental Protection.

    Key responsibilities:
    - To discharge the Council's responsibilities under environmental protection legislation, codes of practice and guidance through the inspection or sampling of premises, interpretation of compliance with legal requirements.

    - Conduct investigations of incidents, persons, premises or activities as required for the specific service area.

    - You will need to provide an excellent service to residents to promote a better environment and healthy lifestyle using a range of intervention strategies, including enforcement, education and advice.

    - To work both as part of a team and independently as necessary to take formal enforcement action, seeing cases through from start to completion.

    - To work in partnership with other teams within the Council and outside agencies to deliver the best outcomes within the legislation and means available to the service.

    What We’re Looking For:
    We’re seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Environmental Health Officer with experience in service delivery. A track record of seeing complex cases through to conclusion and seeking service improvements. You’ll bring excellent technical knowledge, a passion for your service area with excellent time management skills and an innovative approach.

    This is a high-impact role at the heart of a prominent public-facing service, offering the opportunity to shape standards across the borough.

    This role requires the post holder to have a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
