Environmental Protection Officer/Environmental Health Officer (Planning Consultations and Air Quality)

Salary: Grade D-F (depending on experience).

Full time 37hours

We are seeking a motivated environmental specialist with appropriate knowledge and experience to comment on planning applications from a public health perspective. A strong knowledge of key areas, Air Quality, Environmental Noise and Contaminated Land is necessary. You will work with our Planning department across all stages of the planning process, providing advice and guidance on the environmental and public health impact of applications and proposed developments. You will help provide evidence and expert witness evidence for appeals, hearings and public inquiries. You may also be required to investigate or assist with the investigation of nuisance complaints and other service requests within the team.

You will lead and oversee the strategy for improving and monitoring air quality within the district.

You will also assist with the development of policies and initiatives regarding environmental protection issues. Your detail-focused approach will ensure that all records and databases are accurate available to support decisions.

We invite applications for the full-time role, please note that there is a requirement to be office based (Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG) for at least 40% of the time and therefore we are unable to consider applicants who wish to undertake remote working.
