Estate Services Gardener – Help Keep Our Communities Green, Clean and Welcoming
Love working outdoors and taking pride in creating great‑looking spaces? As an Estate Services Gardener at Peabody, you’ll play a key role in delivering a high‑quality, customer‑focused gardening service across our estates. You’ll ensure our communal areas are well‑maintained, attractive and safe for residents, contributing to vibrant neighbourhoods that people are proud to live in.
This is a role where your hard work is seen and appreciated every day. You’ll use your horticultural skills, tools and equipment to maintain planting areas, lawns, hedges and communal open spaces—all while delivering great customer service and supporting a clean, well‑kept environment.
What you’ll do
- Carry out a programme of assigned grounds maintenance tasks according to published schedules
- Undertake seasonal activities such as planting summer and winter beds, hedge maintenance, turf care, weed spraying/weeding and leaf clearance
- Apply and store chemicals in line with the Pesticides Regulations Act, DEFRA guidance and company policies
- Operate and maintain manual and powered tools, machinery and equipment safely and correctly
- Remove and dispose of green waste in line with waste management regulations
- Keep estates and communal areas clean, tidy, weed‑free and litter‑free in line with local standards
- Assist in soft and hard landscaping development
- Report emergencies, vandalism, graffiti and issues requiring specialist attention
- Carry out health & safety checks and report hazards promptly
- Report building or structural defects needing specialist repair
- Provide cover for colleagues across the service during sickness or holidays
- Wear all required PPE at all times
- Work as part of a team and contribute ideas to improve service delivery
What you’ll need
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and politely
- Ability to carry out general horticultural duties using hand tools and mechanical equipment
- Good literacy and basic numeracy skills
- Basic understanding of health & safety regulations related to estate services
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather and perform moderately strenuous manual work
- Ability to organise your workload with minimal supervision
- A valid UK driving licence (company vehicle use may be required)
- PA1 & PA6a pesticide certificates are desirable but not essential

This is a physically active, outdoor role. You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, using a variety of tools and equipment, and supporting high standards across our estates. This role requires a Basic DBS check.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 19th March, in person, at our Brent location.
