Job summary

This is an exciting new role in Exhibit management. You will manage the new central Exhibit stores at Stratford and the Organised Crime Partnership (OCP) London in Tolworth, and supervise/manage the Exhibit Store Officer. You will manage the continuity of Exhibits in line with exhibit policy and legislation; contribute to court proceedings by identifying and readying exhibits for court; manage environments for exhibit storage including maintaining and managing the freezer operation and keep records of same. You will liaise across multiple teams and commands assisting them with trial requirements by overseeing processes for extraction of evidential material from exhibits.

The ability to manage two exhibit stores across two separate locations in Tolworth (Kingston-upon-Thames) and Stratford is required so the ability to travel to both sites is essential

Please note the Tolworth (Kingston-upon-Thames) site will be operational by November 2026 so any applicant based at Tolworth will be required to work from London until this time

Job description

You will have an Operational background, with an excellent knowledge of exhibit management, H&S polices and risk management; an excellent understanding of UK legislation around exhibit management. You will have a proven track record of management/development of others.

Conduct relevant health and safety procedures and report issues or identified risks in accordance with health and safety legislation and Agency policy

Attend court and give evidence if required

Appropriately package exhibits and arrange for transport to court as required, accurately record the exhibit movement.

Implement any legislative changes/audit findings with regard to exhibit management.

Ensure that the exhibit store has adequate cover, liaising with Regional exhibit store manager to manage cover across sites

Manage exhibits recording and receipting, along with overseeing movement and removal of exhibits including opening/sealing actions. Whilst also taking timeous receipt of exhibits left in the out of hours area of the exhibit store including the drop box safe, recording and storing appropriately.

Selecting exhibits due for return to subjects in line with PACE and advise case team.

Appropriately package exhibits required to be sent from the exhibit store e.g. to forensics, and accurately record the movement of same.

Countersigning forensic requests on exhibits as requested by the case team.

Manage exhibit safe, storage and storage medium environments, ensuring the exhibit store has adequate documentation. Including selecting and managing exhibits to be placed into remote storage, accurately recording and managing actions and package exhibits appropriately to storage crates.

Keep up to date with exhibit handling requirements, legislation and guidance, liaising with and participating in the Exhibits Working Group (EWG)

Assessment Outcome

Outcomes will be communicated via the NCA recruitment portal.
If successful but no role is immediately available, you may be placed on a reserve list for 12 months.
Reserve lists can be used to fill similar role types across the Agency where the assessment criteria is considered a match by the recruitment team and the business area.
