Sir John Heron is a successful two-form entry resourced Primary School with a morning and afternoon Nursery, providing high quality education to an inclusive and diverse community. Our school has an out of hour’s provision that runs until 6pm on week days.
We are looking to appoint a professional, dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic Site Supervisor to join us.

As we take great pride in our school, we require a person who will also show pride, determination, forward thinking and be able to work independently, often relying on their own initiative.
This position would suit a person with premises management experience who can work to a high standard and have the ability to work unsupervised and use their own initiative to complete a range of tasks around the site. We will welcome applications from candidates with relevant field experience and a full induction will be provided. School based experience is not essential although this would be desirable.
You will be working 36 hours per week on a split shift basis. Although the time pattern is negotiable, you will need to open the school in the morning and lock up in the evening (between 6am and 6pm). You should be flexible and adaptable and be on-call for emergencies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Locking and unlocking of buildings and premises, including occasional weekend or out of hours work, when necessary.
- Working with others to ensure Health & Safety compliance within the site.
- Maintaining a computerised compliance log.
- General repairs, maintenance and improvement/renovations to the premises and grounds.
- Ensuring the highest cleaning and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Fire alarm and water testing.
- Liaising with contractors and other agencies, including management of cleaning and kitchen staff.
- Obtaining quotes for works carried out across the school and managing small projects.
- Assisting with the receipt, distribution, collection and dispatch of goods.
- Good communication and organisation skills to ensure the start and finish of tasks to support the smooth running of the school.
- Full/clean driving license, and willing to undergo MiDAS training to drive our school minibus.

Salary range
- £34,416 - £35,448 per year
