Do you enjoy social work that keeps you thinking?
If you're looking for a role where every day is the same, this probably isn't it.
If you enjoy problem-solving, working alongside health colleagues, making difficult decisions and seeing the difference your work makes every day, we'd love to hear from you.
We're looking for two experienced Social Workers to join our Hospital Adult Care Team based at Lincoln County Hospital.
Hospital social work can be challenging, busy and unpredictable, but it's also one of the most rewarding areas of practice. You'll support people and their families during some of the most important moments in their lives, helping them navigate change, make decisions and plan for the future.
What will you be doing?
No two days are ever quite the same.
You could find yourself:
- Completing Care Act assessments and support planning.
- Working alongside ward teams to support safe and timely discharges.
- Supporting people to identify their strengths and maintain independence.
- Leading or contributing to safeguarding enquiries.
- Supporting Mental Capacity Act and Best Interest decision-making.
- Working closely with families, carers and partner agencies.
- Managing a varied and complex caseload.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues.
- Helping develop students and newly qualified social workers.
- Deputising for the Lead Practitioner when required.
You'll have the autonomy to make professional decisions while being supported by an experienced and approachable management team.
Why join our team?
You'll be joining a friendly, experienced and supportive hospital social work team that genuinely enjoys working together.
We work hard, support one another and aren't afraid to have a laugh along the way. We know hospital social work can be demanding, but we also know that having good colleagues around you makes all the difference.
Whether you're dealing with a complex discharge, safeguarding concerns or a difficult best interests decision, you'll be part of a team that shares knowledge, supports each other and celebrates successes.
We're proud of the relationships we've built with our health colleagues and the reputation our team has for being approachable, knowledgeable and focused on getting the best outcomes for people.
About you
You'll be:
- Registered with Social Work England.
- An experienced practitioner with at least two years' post-qualification experience.
- Confident working with complexity, risk and uncertainty.
- Passionate about strengths-based practice.
- A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with people, families and professionals.
- Someone who enjoys learning and developing their skills.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who wants to make a difference.
Grow your career with us
We don't just want to recruit good social workers, we want to help them develop.
Many of our team members have gone on to become Practice Educators, complete AMHP training, develop specialist interests or move into leadership roles.
We believe learning happens every day, whether that's through formal training, supervision, mentoring, coaching, shadowing colleagues or simply working through complex situations together.
We actively support staff to develop their careers and will work with you to identify opportunities that match your interests and aspirations.
What we offer
Alongside a competitive salary and 15% Attraction & Retention Payment, we also offer:
- Local Government Pension Scheme.
- Exclusive car lease scheme.
- Cycle to Work Scheme.
- Generous annual leave entitlement.
- Access to discounts and offers through our Perkbox platform.
- Payment of your annual Social Work England registration fee.
- Regular supervision and support.
- A strong commitment to staff wellbeing and development.
