    At the Heart of Social Work in Duty Teams

    The Duty Service is currently looking for both fixed term (minimum 12 month contract) and permanent Social Worker.

    The Duty Teams structure consist of 4 Duty teams, each with 6 Social Workers, one Assistant Team Manager and one Team Manager.

    Duty will receive referrals screened in the MASH and will work closely with MASH colleagues ensuring the right referrals are received into duty for a timely response for children and young people who are deemed to be at significant risk or require assessment of need due to serious concerns for their wellbeing arising from concerns of emotional, physical, sexual or significant neglect issues.

    You will be provided with regular support and supervision by your team manager and practice standards will be strongly driven and influenced with the support of your Assistant Team Manager. You will be expected to undertake timely assessments to a high standard and ensure care planning for children is the best it can be.

    The Head of Service is passionate and driven in terms of developing practice and learning opportunities and you will support this aim by delivering to the practice standards set by the Principle Social Worker and Senior Management team to support the improvement journey and improving outcomes for children and their families.

    This is a time of real opportunity for new developments which will benefit from your ideas and initiative.

    You will be responsible for a caseload and be expected to work in partnership with a range of other professionals and have the skills and experience of leading and chairing meetings, leading section 47 investigations and managing children subject to child in need plans or considering whether children require child protection plans or indeed legal intervention in order to keep them safe. I
