
Family Support Worker - SW Safeguarding (Child Protection)

We are now seeking a passionate and motivated Family Support Workers to join our Safeguarding Team.
As a Family Support Worker, your key responsibility is to provide focused safeguarding services for children, young people, and their families involved in Child Protection Enquiries. You will draw on your expertise to evaluate needs, participate in multi-agency planning, and offer proven interventions that have a genuine impact.
You will partner with the social work service and other professional to develop the objectives jointly agreed on with family. In this partnership you will be required to write reports and offer summary updates measuring progress as well as challenges to be addressed.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
What will I be doing?
As an experienced Family Support Worker you will:
- Act as lead professional for an allocated caseload, coordinating multi-agency support plans.
- Assisting Social Workers in care planning.
- Deliver timely, evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for children and families.
- To be involved in arranging family time (Children family time with their parents)
- Champion specialist areas such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, or parenting, providing advice and workshops.
- Maintain high standards of case recording and reporting in line with professional standards.
- Convene and chair case planning and review meetings, ensuring effective partnership working.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.
What do I need?
- Have experience of working with children, young people, and families in a support or safeguarding role and responding to significant harm.
- Parental engagement: Experience of effectively engaging families when there are concerns.
- Ideally you will be parenting assessment qualified
- Have the ability to manage and co-ordinate a complex workload and prioritise effectively.
- Have excellent communication and engagement skills, with a commitment to involving families in decision-making.
- Have experience delivering results within fast-moving and evolving settings.
- The flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required.
