Drive justice with expert drug analysis.
As a FAS Drugs Laboratory Officer for the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), you’ll play a key role in supporting forensic drug investigations across the region. You’ll identify, analyse and report on illicit drugs, helping deliver vital forensic evidence for five police forces.
Working closely with reporting scientists, you’ll support the production of forensic reports and witness statements, while also providing expert advice to colleagues and stakeholders on drug casework and laboratory processes.
You’ll be
- Examining a range of illegal drugs samples using accredited analytical methods.
- Preparing reports on results and attending court as an expert witness.
- Attending specialist training for use and maintenance of equipment.
You must have
- A scientific degree or work experience in an accredited laboratory.
- Knowledge of forensic service quality standards and forensic regulators codes of practice and conduct.
- Health and safety awareness.
