Finance Apprentice
Fixed Term Position for 21 months
Full time - 37 hours per week
National Minimum Wage – hourly rate dependent on age

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join our vibrant and forward-thinking Finance Team on a full-time, fixed-term basis.
Our Finance Team supports both Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council, and as a newly formed team, this is your chance to be part of something fresh and innovative. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a variety of finance disciplines, including:
- Management Accounting
- Technical Accounting
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Insurance
Main Duties for the role include:
- Assisting with budget monitoring and variance analysis
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly quarterly and annual report
- Maintaining accurate financial records including updating spreadsheets
- Gathering documentation for internal and external audits
- Reconciliations
- Preparing and sending invoices to customers
- Checking and processing supplier invoices
- Data entry for insurance

About You:
The successful candidate will be proactive, innovative, present a strong level of interpersonal skills and share our organisational values (Nurture, Belong, Innovate, Trust).
To be successful you will need to be able to work well within a team managing a demanding workload.
You need to be professional, able to manage your own performance as well as being adaptable and resilient. Demonstratable IT skills are essential as are good communication and interpersonal skills.
The apprenticeships will be for 21 months, to allow time to complete the relevant apprenticeship qualification.
Please note, the placement includes attendance at one or both council sites should you be successful.
