    The role:

    You will oversee the development and updating of financial business models, providing insightful feedback to the service on model outputs. In addition, you will be responsible for reporting, providing high-quality technical financial advice, guidance and support to senior management and for supporting the Finance team in all financial management. You will enable effective decision-making by ensuring financial resources are used efficiently, risks are managed effectively, and financial goals are achieved.

    You will be a member of a recognised professional accountancy body (CCAB/CIMA) or have suitable qualifying experience and be prepared to become a CCAB/CIMA qualified accountant.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct financial modelling and scenario analysis and provide insightful financial advice and challenge to managers and service leads to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation
    • Monitor and analyse financial performance, produce clear, concise and timely reporting to senior leadership and elected members
    • Supporting the robust review of transformational models and monitoring the delivery of saving targets
    • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor to operational teams, influencing service design and delivery with sound financial analysis and providing financial expertise and guidance in relation to budgeting, financial planning, and performance management.
    • Support the development of robust financial strategies and business cases, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives
    • Drive efficiency, innovation, and financial resilience across Adult Social Care services through data-led insight
    • Identify areas of financial risk and assist in developing mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, relevant financial regulations, policies, and service specific statutory requirements
    • Collaborate with the wider finance team to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations, including budget monitoring, forecasting, and month-end processes
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting tools
