Salary: £78,544 per annum (London weighted salary) or £68,571 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience

We are seeking a commercially astute, technically skilled and highly motivated individual to take on the role of Finance Manager – Development & Sales. This is a pivotal leadership role within the Development & Sales Finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance – Development & Sales.

Your impact in the role:
Reporting to the Head of Development Finance you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of financial services for the Development and Sales activities of the L&Q Group. Supporting a strategic financial oversight across a development portfolio of approximately £0.5bn in expenditure and £0.5bn in sales revenue annually.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performance & Reporting: Oversee management information reporting to support performance management and drive business improvement across development and sales activities.
- Control Environment: Lead in the implementation of a robust financial and business framework to support Development and Sales and develop and maintain financial appraisal model for all new investment proposals affecting these.
- Team Leadership: Management of a finance team and this includes training, coaching, supervision, development and appraisal of personnel towards the delivery of the team’s objectives.
- Business Partnering: Build strong relationships with the Development & Sales directorate, providing sound financial and commercial advice.
- Portfolio Oversight: Identify and Manage risks associated with each individual development scheme including an overall evaluation of financial exposure, risk analysis, and recommend risk mitigating measures.
- Statutory & Management Accounts: Ensure accurate and timely production of statutory and management accounts in line with current accounting policies.
- Budgeting & Planning: Coordinate annual budgets with budget holders and support them in achieving divisional targets.
- Audit & Risk: Act as lead contact for external auditors and manage risks within the remit of the role.
- Continuous Improvement: collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to drive efficiency, value for money, and continuous improvement in financial processes.
What you'll bring:
- Professional Qualification: Academic & professional qualifications: CCAB Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or CFA with evidence of demonstrable relevant post qualified experience (essential)
- Sector Experience: Strong accounting experience, ideally within construction or residential property development.
- Leadership & Communication: Excellent team leadership, communication and influencing skills.
- Project Management: Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and IT literacy for reporting and analysis.
