Be Part of Something Bigger
At Peabody, we believe that finance is more than numbers; it’s the foundation that helps us provide homes, services, and opportunities to the people who need them most. As one of the UK’s largest housing associations, we are committed to building thriving communities and our Finance team plays a crucial role in making that happen.

We are on an exciting journey of transformation, modernising our financial systems, strengthening controls, and embedding efficiency into everything we do. We are looking for a Finance Manager, Projects, who will be at the heart of this change, leading on strategic projects that will shape the future of Peabody’s finance function and help us deliver even greater social value.

Your Impact
As the Finance Project Manager, you will take the lead on shaping and delivering finance transformation initiatives that make a real difference. You will work closely with finance leaders, IT teams, and key stakeholders across Peabody to improve processes, optimise systems, and ensure financial governance supports our long-term ambitions. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency and clarity, helping Finance become a modern, forward-thinking function that maximises its impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead high-profile finance transformation projects, ensuring they deliver meaningful improvements and long-lasting impact.
  • Lead key phases and workstreams for the potential cloud-based ERP selection and ultimately implementation.
  • Work with Finance Directors to understand strategic priorities and implement solutions that add value.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements that enhance accuracy, automation, and financial control.
  • Provide clear, insightful project reporting and business cases that support informed decision-making.
  • Champion data integrity and work with teams to ensure financial data is high-quality and well-governed.
  • Facilitate workshops, provide tools, and support teams in embedding change in a way that is practical and sustainable.
  • Attend and contribute to the Finance Steering Committee, influencing key decisions and driving transformation forward.
  • Take a proactive approach to risk management, identifying issues early and ensuring they are addressed effectively.

What You’ll Bring
We are looking for someone who is excited by change and motivated by impact. You will be a natural problem solver with a passion for making things better, whether that’s improving financial processes, helping systems work more effectively, or ensuring teams have the tools they need to succeed.

  • A proven track record of leading significant change projects in finance, with experience in project governance and frameworks.
  • Experience of implementing significant business change projects (cloud-based ERP desirable) and a proven track record of managing large scale projects
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing people and/or project teams.
  • A background in finance operations, with an understanding of how to create scalable and effective processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and present financial information in a clear, compelling way.
  • The confidence to challenge, influence, and drive progress, while maintaining a collaborative and supportive approach.
  • Strong organisational skills, ensuring projects are well-managed and deliverables are met on time.
  • A deep understanding of finance systems, data, and automation, with experience in integrating systems effectively.
  • A professional accounting qualification (CCAB or equivalent) or extensive relevant experience in finance transformation.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Project management expertise, with qualifications such as Prince 2 (or equivalent experience).
