Job description
Trusted, commercially successful, and always growing. This is Finance with a twist, now, you’ve got the opportunity to join them.
Accounting for the nation’s interests.
Striking the perfect balance.
Creating value in your work.
It all matters.
Take care of the details so Finance can thrive
In this role, you’ll provide invaluable support to the Finance Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Scheduling meetings and keeping accurate notes, you’ll monitor the System Queries mailbox and respond to queries – escalating more complex examples to the relevant SME’s workstream. You’ll process system access requests in line with FCDO Services policies and governance. Each morning, you’ll check that the system has correctly updated overnight, fixing any issues that you can and informing an SME if needed. Similarly, you’ll complete evergreen testing, recording results and raising defects, and data cleanse across workstreams. You will update and review documentation, such as training materials, forms and the FCDO Services SharePoint site. We’ll help you gain an enhanced knowledge of key applications that we use, such as Oracle Financial Applications.
Evolve your IT literacy and admin skills with us
You’ll bring excellent written and verbal communication skills, matched with a history of good customer/supplier relationships. You’re IT literate – familiar with database systems and you’ve used Excel to create spreadsheets for analysis and reporting purposes. It’s key that you have good attention to detail, numerical and analytical skills, paired with the ability to quantify and interpret data. Teamwork is important here, and you’ll need to develop effective relationships with Finance colleagues and beyond. But you’ll also need to be comfortable working independently, organising and prioritising work to achieve deadlines.
If you’ve previously worked in a Financial or Customer Service environment, excellent. An understanding of the inter-relationship of various finance functions would also be useful.
Discover the support you need to grow your career further
But we’re always looking to improve – just like you. That’s why when you join us, expect to receive a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement and a Civil Service Pension. Along with this, you’ll also have access to training and other development opportunities to help grow your career with us. Our offices have an on-site gym, nursery, café, and restaurant, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. It's a great set of benefits made to support all you do, and all you need.
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process to achieve Security Check (SC) clearance. You can find out more about vetting on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
