Financial Inclusion Specialist
Our Vacancy
As a Financial Inclusion Specialist, you’ll be working closely with our Collections team, other internal departments, external partners and tenants to provide intensive benefits support. Your work will focus on income maximisation, challenging incorrect decisions and helping residents avoid debt and potential eviction. You’ll be delivering a service that truly makes a difference.
You’ll be responsible for providing expert advice across the full range of state and local benefits, from initial assessments and benefit checks to complex applications and tribunal representation. You’ll manage a varied caseload, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with colleagues across Peabody to ensure early intervention and effective support for vulnerable tenants. You’ll also run drop-in sessions, respond to enquiries via our duty line, and carry out home visits where needed.
You’re a passionate person who enjoys delivering excellent customer service and who embodies our values: doing the right thing, pulling together, celebrating diversity, loving new ideas, being kind and keeping promises. You’ll have up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits, experience in benefits casework, and the ability to represent residents in communications with agencies such as the DWP and local authorities. You’ll be confident working with diverse audiences, including vulnerable individuals, and have strong communication, IT and organisational skills.
You’ll need to be in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week.
If you’re ready to make a real impact and help improve lives, we’d love to hear from you.
Ideally, you’ll have experience working in a customer-focused environment, knowledge of social housing, and familiarity with systems such as AdvicePro and PowerApps. You’ll be a team player who can also work independently, with a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
