We have an exciting opportunity within our Financial Operations Service for a self-motivated Financial Operations Assistant providing essential support to the Trust. This role will be based at One Avenue Road, Aston, Birmingham, to work in the office a minimum of 2 days per week, however we do work to hybrid model of working, as part of a flexible team you may be asked to cover at our other location Lifford House, Stirchely, Birmingham. The Financial Operations Team process a range of financial transactions, supporting services across Birmingham Children’s Trust. Eg: petty cash payments, ordering goods and services via a variety of methods, making payments to carers and individuals, and dealing with general/complex administrative tasks and queries via phone/email/face to face. We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting. This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.

Key skills and attributes we are seeking in your personal statement include:

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and effectively (including good literacy and numeracy skills)
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to use your own initiative to support and achieve business objectives
  • Flexibility and the ability to multitask, including providing support across different roles within the team
  • Proven experience of working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, managing multiple and changing priorities to meet deadlines and business goals
  • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
