Job description
Our HR Operations team sits at the heart of our People
Dictorate, supporting colleagues across COPFS throughout
their employment journey. We provide a professional,
accurate and customer-focussed HR service, with a particular
emphasis on payroll, employee records and responding to day
to day HR queries.
As an HR Administrator, you will be supported through
training, guidance and day to day supervision to build your
knowledge and confidence. You will work closely with
colleagues across HR Operations and the wider HR group,
gaining exposure to different areas such as Resourcing,
Employee Relations and Management Information.
You will play an important part in ensuring that colleagues are
paid accurately, records are kept up to date and queries are
handled professionally and on time. The role requires
accuracy, discretion and the ability to work to deadlines and in
return offers variety, a supportive team environment and
development opportunities for the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out a range of administrative tasks across the
employee lifecycle, such as new starters, contractual
changes, absence and leavers
• Act as a first point of contact for HR queries, providing
a professional service and escalating issues
appropriately where needed
• Use HR systems and digital tools to maintain accurate
records, handling sensitive information with
confidentiality and care
• Organise and manage your workload to meet
competing priorities, particularly during busy periods
• Support the accurate processing of monthly payroll and
employee information, understanding the importance of
deadlines and checks and working within these
• Take part in training and on‑the‑job learning to build
your knowledge of HR processes, systems and ways of
working
