About this opportunity
Join Cumberland Council’s Corporate Fleet Management Service and play a vital role in keeping essential frontline services moving. Fleet is at the heart of everything we do, supporting the delivery of key Council services across Cumberland and providing critical vehicle support.
As part of the Fleet Strategy & Compliance Team, you will help ensure the safe, legal and efficient operation of a diverse fleet, supporting compliance with Operator’s Licence requirements, transport legislation and health and safety standards. This is an opportunity to make a real impact by helping the Council deliver high-quality services while supporting our environmental ambitions and commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
Working closely with colleagues across all Council directorates and external organisations, you will act as a key advisor on transport compliance matters, monitor performance and standards, investigate incidents, analyse data, and identify opportunities to improve systems and processes. Your expertise and influence will help drive continuous improvement, promote best practice and ensure the Council maintains the highest standards of fleet governance.
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving. You will have the confidence to challenge non-compliance where necessary, whilst building positive and productive relationships across the organisation. If you are motivated by making a difference, enjoy working in a collaborative environment and want to contribute to the delivery of essential services that local communities rely on every day, we would love to hear from you.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
