Food & Beverage Manager

Following a £13.5m refurbishment King Georges Hall is seeking to employ an experienced commercially driven Food & Beverage Manager.

This is a hands-on management role with responsibility for the day-to-day operation and commercial performance of our bars and food service, ensuring consistently high standards of service, quality and customer experience.

You will be responsible for leading and developing the F&B team, maximising sales and profitability, controlling wage and operating costs, and continually developing our food and beverage offer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of bars and food & beverage operations.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the F&B team, creating a positive, professional and high-performing culture.
  • Manage staff wages and labour costs, ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to trading levels and business needs.
  • Take ownership of food and beverage budgets, forecasting and profit & loss, identifying opportunities to improve income and profitability.
  • Develop and continually improve the food offer, pre-concert buffet and banqueting.
  • Develop the drinks and bar offer, including product selection, pricing, promotions and sales opportunities.
  • Monitor food and beverage GP, stock levels, wastage, purchasing and portion control.
  • Ensure excellent standards of customer service, presentation, cleanliness and compliance across all F&B areas.
  • Take responsibility for licensing compliance, including adherence to the premises licence, licensing conditions and relevant legislation.
  • Ensure all staff understand and comply with licensing, health & safety, food safety and responsible service requirements.
  • Analyse sales and performance data and implement actions to improve commercial results.
  • Plan staffing and operations around events, busy periods and seasonal trading.
  • Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally, using feedback to improve the operation.
  • Work closely with the wider management team to deliver the venue's overall commercial and operational objectives.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in a Food & Beverage Manager, Hospitality Manager or senior F&B leadership role.
  • Has strong commercial awareness and understands P&L, GP, labour costs and budgeting.
  • Has experience managing busy bars and food operations.
  • Is confident managing, coaching and motivating a team.
  • Understands licensing requirements and the responsibilities involved in operating a licensed premises.
  • Is organised, proactive and able to make sound commercial decisions.
  • Has excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Leads from the front and is comfortable being hands-on when required.
  • Is passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience while maintaining strong commercial discipline.
